Geofencing

What is Geofence? #

A geofence is a virtual zone you create on the map to monitor specific areas.
When a vehicle enters, exits, or passes through the zone, you can receive notifications, trigger video records or uploads, and even apply speed limits.

You can create and manage geofences in the Web Viewer

Creating a Geofence #

1. Click + Add Geofence in Geofences menu

   

   • You can add up to 20 zones

2. Choose a shape
   
   and draw the zone on the map
   

3. Set the following zone properties:

   • • Zone name
     • Color and opacity
       
       
4. Assign Cameras and Configure Event Behavior
   1. Select the cameras you want to apply the geofence to
   2. Click Camera Settings to define:
      • Which event types to monitor (entry / exit / speed alert)
        • Speed Alert limit (1–200 km/h or 1–124 mph)
      • Whether to enable Live Event Upload
   3. The available settings vary by camera model:
      • Local + Cloud cameras: Support SD card recording + optional Live Event Upload
      • Cloud Video Only cameras: Support Live Event Upload only, and only for entry/exit events
   4. Click Apply
      
      
5. Click Save to complete geofence creation

Geofence Notifications #

You can enable notifications when a camera:

• Enters or exits the zone
• Passes through a Polyline zone
• Exceeds speed limit in the zone

Notifications are sent to your mobile device or web viewer, based on your settings.

To enable:

1. Go to Notifications > Settings of each camera
2. Select Push or Email notification you want to receive
3. Enable Geofence event
   

Managing Overlapping Zones (Speed Priority) #

When zones overlap, you can prioritize which speed limit applies.

1. Click the three-dot menu on a geofence
2. Select Set Speed Priority
   
3. Use the arrows to reorder zones and click Save
   
4. The highest priority zone’s speed limit will apply
