Remote Firmware update (FOTA) for DMC200

* Caution to update the latest firmware of DMC200

Check the below condition to update DMC200’s latest firmware in the proper steps.

  1. Make sure your dashcam is the DMC200 compatible model and if you’ve ever connected your dashcam with the DMC200 before
  2. Check if your dashcam’s Wi-Fi is “on”
  3. Do not disconnect the coaxial cable during the firmware update.
  4. Do not try to use other features in the BlackVue app until the dashcam rebooting is finished.

 

When a new firmware is available, select-icon icon will be highlighted on the camera list. The firmware can only be updated when the dashcam is connected to Cloud.

  Step 1. Open the BlackVue app. Tap Connect to Cloud.

  Step 2. Tap select-icon icon of the DMC200 connected dashcam you want for the firmware update.

Step 3. Tap Remote firmware update. Then the pop-up with a Firmware update available list will be shown up.

When the compatible BlackVue with DMC200 is connected to the Cloud, there are three different cases for updating the firmware.

 

A. When there is the latest firmware version for both the main dashcam and DMC200. The following pop-up will be displayed, then follow up with proper steps.

*Main dashcam’s firmware should be updated at first then you can update DMC200’s firmware for device interoperability.

*Beforehand you update DMC200 firmware, main dashcam’s firmware should be updated first for device interoperability.

B. When there is the latest firmware version for only the main dashcam, the following pop-up will be displayed, then follow up with proper steps. 

C. When there is the latest firmware version for only DMC200, the following pop-up will be displayed, then follow up with proper steps.

      

  Step 4. Tap the button based on your case. The main dashcam or DMC200 will start the firmware update.

 

  Step 5. Once the main dashcam or DMC200 receives the firmware update, you will get the completion message. Tab OK to proceed with the firmware update. The main dashcam will reboot and start updating the firmware. Hence, do not disconnect the power supply. Any power interruption may prevent the firmware update from completing.

Step 6.Once the update is complete, you will get a voice message.
